from the editor – issue 003
Editor Dan Jahn comments on the magazine and Denver.
Welcome to the summer issue of frenzy. Its been an exciting issue to put together, as we have been tracking the downloads on the last issue. We have seen the PDF edition now downloaded over 4,000 times, in more than 20 countries. We are working like mad on the iPad edition, and are getting closer to our first fully “tabletized” edition of frenzy, which you will see on the Apple® app store. It will take advantage of Apple’s “Newsstand” app in iOS5, and offer some unique features, including some fun tie-ins to products and vendors – think “Minority Report”, and augmented reality … Denver continues to be an … interesting … place to be involved in fashion, art and design. I was chided on the pretentiousness of it all by my favorite local barista (and artist) (thanks Anne Marie). In this industry it is remarkably easy to be perceived as pretentious – its hard to justify fashion sometimes in light of problems the world is facing. But, that is the point of fashion, and design and photography, and all forms of art and expression. They are all aspects of the human experience – its all about having fun, and sharing in the creative spirit we all have.
